EL141 - AC Electricity

This course builds on the outcomes of EL131 and gives participants the knowledge to safely work with more complex electrical circuits. With more advanced theory and a larger focus on AC Electrical topics, This course will prepare participants to work with a wide variety of electrical circuits and systems.

This 2-day course covers the following topics:
- Safety in electric circuits
- Electric field and magnetism
- Coils
- Capacitors
- Calculating and interpreting values
- Introdcution to three-phase current theory
- Work and power
At the conclusion of this course, the participant is able to:
- Explain and apply the safety procedures for working in electrical circuits
- Name the electrical sensors and actuators, and relate them to real-life applications
- Build and commission circuits of intermediate complexity
- Diagnose the most common faults in electrical circuits
- Calculate the cost of using electricity
