SN171 - Machine Safety Awareness

SN171 - Machine Safety Awareness

Machinery Directive training course

This workshop will familiarize participants with the relevant standards and regulations that should be considered during the design and development of machinery. The training defines the design and proof requirements for functional safety of machines.
Risk Assessment, Performance Level (PL), Mean time To Failure (MTTF), and other calculations will be conducted for the validation of the pneumatic safety systems designed for the machinery.

Target Group
Engineer/Design Engineer

Content
This one day workshop covers the following material:

  • Overview of ISO 12100, 13849-1, and 13849-2
  • Risk Assessment
  • Safety technical data calculations
  • Sistema software

At the conclusion of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Determine and describe the limits of the machinery
  • Carry out a risk assessment and resolve/minimize risks
  • Define the life stages of the machinery
  • Perform the necessary calculations for PL, MTTFd based on the B10 value of pneumatic components
  • Describe MTTF, MTBF, B10 , T10 , DC, CCF, etc.
  • Create the appropriate machinery documentation using SISTEMA software

Prerequisites
Basic technical knowledge

Must have SISTEMA software and Festo libraries loaded onto participant laptop prior to the training delivery
