MPS Programming station: micro controllers as intelligent workpieces of the future

The MPS Programming station D deals with the programming of micro controllers and the detection and alignment of workpieces. The station also provides some insight into the use of proximity sensors.

The MPS Programming station D programs the EasyKit micro controller system. The Conveyor module transports a workpiece attachment with the EasyKit micro controller system to the loading position of the Programming module. The control unit of the module carries out the loading, aligning, programming, and ejecting of the workpiece attachment. The control unit stores up to seven programs for the EasyKit micro controller system. Custom programs are possible. The module can be controlled via the integrated touch panel or an external PLC. When programming is finished, the Conveyor module transports the programmed EasyKit micro controller system to the end of the belt.

Optical proximity sensors detect the position of the workpiece. The Conveyor module transports the workpiece through the station. A double-acting cylinder unloads and loads the Programming module.

A capacitive proximity sensor detects the alignment of the workpiece attachment. A DC motor rotates the EasyKit micro controller system for programming into the required position.
