Mechatronics and Mobile Robotics are the subject of two new competitions that will take place during EuroSkills 2008. Festo supports the EuroSkills 2008 as official Competition partner and organizes these competitions.For both skills areas, it concerns a team competition (two competitors per team). Festo provides knowledge and materials for 15 Mechatronics teams, and facilitates the participation of 10 teams in the field of Mobile Robotics at EuroSkills 2008.
During this three-day event, more than 400 young craftsmen and women from 26 countries competed to become the ‘Best of the Best’ in their own vocation. Participants in over 50 areas of expertise demonstrated their talents and competed for the title. Non-participants could get inspiration from demonstrations of various vocations, ranging from bar tender to car mechanic.
By organising this event, EuroSkills improves quality, service, efficiency and innovation in vocational education and craftsmanship at a European level. This leads to a stronger competitive edge for Europe. EuroSkills also contributes to a better understanding of different cultures in education and the labour market.
