Description of partner organisation
The Nile University’s (NU) mission is to contribute to the development of the technology-driven economies in Egypt and the region through the pursuit of education and research at the highest levels of excellence. To accomplish this mission, NU collaborates with distinguished international universities, research institutions and industrial partners. Driven by the same concept, NU’s Mechatronics Research & Industrial Development Centre targets high end technical development activities for the human capital and production scheme in the field of mechatronics and industrial automation.

Description of FACT Centre
NU has partnered with Festo to establish the FACT Centre Cairo as part of the TEMPUS project for bridging the gap between academia and industry. The project is capable of outreaching industrial entities for solving their technical and training needs. This know-how is adapted to fulfil the local industrial needs utilizing the didactic methods of Festo, integrated into the lab “Basic Technologies” covering the training topics of pneumatics, safety, hydraulics, sensor systems, CNC, robotics and PLC, and the “Full Automation Lab” addressing commissioning, troubleshooting and closed loop control.
