Fieldbus technology Profibus-DP, equipment set TP 402

Profibus is the fieldbus standard for manufacturing and process automation, as standardised by IEC 61158/EN 50170. Profibus allows powerful, open and robust data communication with field devices – with short response times. 

A series of 5 graduated exercises provide an introduction to Profibus-DP technology and consolidate what has already been learned. The S7-300 is required to demonstrate the exercises and solutions.

The participants learn about the various stations in a Profibus network by completing the exercises. Once finished they should be able to build, understand, program and troubleshoot Profibus-DP networks.

Prerequisites

• A SIMATIC S7-300 with Profibus-DP master is required to solve the exercises in this training package.
• The equipment set TP 201 or TP 301 is also required to solve the exercises. You can additionally order the supplementary TP 400 component set.
